Pauline Ierome Misa

Pauline Ierome Misa, a wonderful daughter, mother, and grandmother, at the tender age of 83, returned to her Father in Heaven on February 18, 2020 at 2:15 pm. She passed peacefully in her sleep. Her final moments were spent surrounded by her earthly family at home.

She was born on December 23, 1936 of Ierome and Niniva Sio on the tiny island of Apia in Western Samoa. She is 10th in line of 13 children.

She returned to the embrace of her loving husband, Iosefo Tapuni and her two daughters Fotino & Pauline Bationg (Dusty). She is survived by her children, Pona (Perenise), Pouafe Tuia (Ruta), Ianeta, Jerome (Laloifi), Konetineta Tevaga (Sandy), and Pio (Sifoua). She is also blessed with 24 grandchildren, Priona, Pona Jr., Filiaga, Fiataupou, Ianeta, Ivona, Pona, Tala, Jade, Jasmine, Brandon, Brandi, Lee Jerome, Vesa, Kary, Eric, Tagilima, Jerome, Pio Jr., Sydney, Mia, Maxine, Amriah, Kobe, and 5 great-grandchildren, Prynhston, Penelope, Ammon, Iosefo BJ and one on the way.

Grandma served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at the age of 18 and continued to serve our Heavenly Father's children to the end. She loved to teach, sing, cook, sew, and was very crafty with all kinds of arts & crafts projects. She was alway honest but never judgmental. She taught us to forgive and learn from our mistakes. She was a visionary person in both Spirit and being. She enjoyed reminiscing of stories of times past that molded her to become the person she was on earth.

Today, our hearts are saddened by our loss, but in Heaven, they welcome her home with honor.

A Viewing will be held in her honor on Monday, 24th at 10:00 am in the Rosepark Center Ward cultural hall at 868 North Star Crest Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84116. Friends and family are welcome to a light brunch immediately following the viewing. We will continue with the Bishop Service in the chapel from noon to 1:00 pm. Her final resting place will be with her beloved husband at the Utah Veterans Cemetary & Memorial Park on 17111 1700 West, Bluffdale, UT 84065. Thank you for sharing this special day with us.

Special thanks to Salt Lake Valley Mortuary for the funeral services.
